“Resistance,” grounded in Qur’anic and divine teachings, serves as a strategic paradigm for combating oppression and as a hallmark of dynamic awaiting. Despite humanity’s industrial and scientific progress, people have strayed into injustice, corruption, and bloodshed—precisely as the Qur’an warns—thereby distancing themselves from their innate human divine nature and approaching the abyss of destruction. In this context, discovering a way out of such misguidance has become an urgent concern for contemporary humanity. The Qur’an proposes “resistance aimed at laying the groundwork for global justice” as the fundamental response to this crisis. Since the Qur’an is the definitive, universally accepted source among Muslims, this study asks: what Qur’anic proofs mandate the formation of resistance?
This research first explores the anthropological foundations of resistance—why human nature inherently inclines toward self preservation, justice, and collective solidarity—and then examines the specific Qur’anic verses that establish its necessity. Employing a descriptive analytical methodology with library based data, it provides a reasoned answer to the question. The Qur’an issues multiple injunctions commanding the establishment and support of resistance, which can be grouped into three categories: verses concerning Jihad and defense, verses emphasizing patience and steadfastness in the face of trials, and verses reflecting divine norms such as the promise of God’s aid (sunnat al-Naṣr), the triumph of truth over falsehood, and the eventual victory of the oppressed.
