Analyzing the content approach of the narrations of the signs of Imam Mahdi’s appearance in the book “Muntakhab al-Athar fi Imam al-Thānī ˈAshar”, written by Ᾱyat-Allah Ṣāfī Golpayegani (d. 1443 A.H./ 2022 A.D.); It can introduce those interested in Mahdavi teachings, especially the discussion of "signs of Appearance" to an outstanding work in this field. The narration of 185 Hadiths in the seventh chapter of this book shows the author's interest in discussing the signs. What is questionable in this research is the Ayat-Allah Safi's approach in narrating the Hadiths of signs of Appearance. Therefore, this paper, which is "exploratory" in terms of the purpose of the research and "qualitative" in terms of the data processing type, is written with the "descriptive-analytical" method, relying on the book of Muntakhab al-Athar, in order to investigate the approach of signs of the Imam’s appearance from the perspective of Ᾱyat-Allah Ṣāfī.
Identifying the Appearance signs and categorizing them is the beginning that this article chooses to present a clear picture of the discussion. The author's approach to the discussion of signs of Appearance is only reflected in this work, and the meaning of the signs from his perspective has a wide meaning.
Paying special attention to the famous traditions of both Shiˈa and Sunni, not using unreliable sources, avoiding fake narrations, and strange and newly found traditions is one of the most important approaches of this work.
